Optional Products

Car Rental companies offer many options within the Rental Plan at time of booking and/or at the time customer are collecting the vehicle and signing the rental agreement. Most of our rental plans include the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) / Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). 

What is LDW/CDW?  This option offers the renter with the protection in case of any damage or loss to the RENTAL CAR. In the United States and Canada, this coverage offers 100% protection without a deductible. Outside of the USA or Canada, some locations have deductible depending on the car class. Please contact our SUPPORT department for more information.

The following items may be offer at time of rental, if not already included in the Rental Plan selected at time of rental. They are optional to the customer. Each description is a summary of the product for informational purpose.

The purchase of these products is not necessary to receive the car rental.

  • Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) / Personal Effects Protection (PEC)
    • PAI provides you and your passengers with Accidental Death, Accident Medical Expenses and Ambulance Expense benefits. PEC insures the personal effects of Renter, or any member of Renter’s immediate family who permanently resides in your household and who is traveling with you, against risks of loss or damage while in transit or in a building (other than your personal residence), or locked in the Vehicle.
  • Roadside Assistance
    • If selected and paid for at the time of rental, Owner offers Roadside Plus, which provides 24/7 roadside assistance without additional charge.
      RSP includes replacement of lost keys (including remote entry devices), towing (not related to an accident), flat tire service (if no inflated spare is available, vehicle will be towed), lockout service (if keys are locked inside the Vehicle), jumpstarts, and fuel delivery service for up to 3 gallons (or equivalent liters) of fuel. RSP services are only available in the 50 United States and Canada.
  • Extended Protection (EP) - Alamo
    • When not included in the Rate Plan reserved, Extended protection may be purchase at time of rental. Optional EP provides you with minimum financial responsibility limits (at no charge to you) as outlined in the applicable motor vehicle financial responsibility laws of the state where the vehicle is operated AND excess insurance provided by the insurance policy. This supplies you and any authorized drivers with third-party liability protection with a combined single limit per accident equal to the difference between the minimum financial responsibility limits referenced above and $1,000,000 Combined Single Limit per accident. EP will respond to third party accident claims that result from bodily injury, including death, and property damage that arise from the use or operation of the vehicle as permitted in the Rental Agreement. The policy does not provide coverage for any loss arising from the use or operation of Vehicle in Mexico.
  • Liability Insurance Supplement ( LIS )
    • Liability Insurance Supplement (LIS) provides you with up to $1 million of increased protection should bodily injury and property damage claims be made against you by people injured in an accident. LIS safeguards your insurance policy and/or your personal assets for the first $1 million should such claims be made against you. LIS also provides uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage up to $1,000,000 per occurrence for combined bodily injury and/or property damage claims.
    • Does LIS Coverage Apply Everywhere? - You and authorized drivers are covered while driving the rental car within the United States and Canada, but only if the car is rented in the U.S. Coverage does not apply in Mexico.

  • Fuel Service Option - Varies by Rental Location
    • Prepay for a full tank of gas at the rental location. The price is based on an estimate of current prices and the average tank size for the car class reserved. This charge may change at time of rental due to current fuel prices. Car should be returned empty as no refund is given for unused fuel.
