Collision Damage Waiver

Collission Damage Waiver - Theft Protection (CDW-TP1) is not insurance. The Purchase of CDW-TP1 is OPTIONAL and NOT REQUIRED in order to rent a vehicle. If you purchase a CDW-TP1, the rental company agrees, subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate CDW-TP1, to contractually waive your responsibility for the cost of damage to or loss of the vehicle after the deductible of up to $5,000 USD, depending on the car class. CDW-TP1 does not cover hail damage to the vehicle or damage to or loss of the windshield or tires. If CDW-TP1 is declined, the renter is responsible for the full cost of damage or the full value of the vehicle.

Please be aware that most auto insurance from outside Argentina do not provide coverage in Argentina. Employees of the local rental car company are not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the customer's personal auto insuance coverage. The customer should contact their insurance company in advance of the pickup date for the rental with any questions regarding their specific coverage.

Third Party Liability

Third Party Liability (TPL) is included in the Time and Mileage of the rate. 

TPL covers damages and injuries to third parties under the local rental car company's insurance (According to Law N.24449 and its corresponding regulations), and provides you with a liability coverage for all accident related expenses not pertaining to passengers of a third party vehicle and for damages to third party vehicles, up to the policy limits, subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate TPL.

No deductibles apply.

Additional Driver

 - All Additional Drviers must meet all rental requirements.
 - Additional drivers must appear at the rental counter with the primiary renter
 - Additional drivers must sign the rental agreement
 - An additional daily fee may apply for any Additional Drivers

The additional driver can only be added to the contract at the pick up location.



Age Requirement

Minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21, and maximum rental age is 75 years

Drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 will incur an additional daily fee



Cross Border Policy

According to the Federal Administration of Public Revenue, a government agency in Argentina, there has been an amendment to the Argentina cross border policy which allows temporary admission of leased vehicles from Argentina to Chile within the framework of the binational technical meeting, it was agreed to adopt a single form for the output and termporary admission of rented vehicles, and the recording of such events in a centralized database and information exchange via "Internet" between the two customs, due to this change, please see below for the following process:

Unrestricted driving within Argentina. Customer can also cross border in the bordering state of Chile, Uruguay and Brazil. Due to customs regulations, vehicles are not allowed to cross into Paraguay or Bolivia.

Chile, if customer wishes to cross border into Chile, a permit into Chile only can be issued and it has a cost of $80 plus tax and airport fee. Customer must request cross border pass at the time of resevation, and must present a passport at time of arrival. The cross border pass can only be issued by non-airport locations and if customer is renting at the airport, they must go to the nearest non-airport location to complete paperwork. The non-airport rental station will submit the request through an online process which can take up to 48 hours to receive the permit. The formal request form cannot be submitted before the customer signs the contract and customer must be present before transaction begins. From Region 1, to include cities Bariloche, Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Iguazu, Jojoy, Mar del Plata, Mendoza, Neuquen, Posadas, Puerto Iguazu, San Juan, San Luis, Tucuman, Rosario, and Salta, the customer can take any vehicle; however, in Region 2, to include El Calafate, Trelew, Puerto Madryn, Ushuaia, the customer can take any vehicle except Economy and Compact vehicles across border into Chile

Oneway Rentals

All one way rentals must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. One way charges apply and are payable at time of rental. One wa charges cannot be prepaid.

There is a minimum length of rental of 4 days for one ways picking up in one city and dropping off in another city. For oneway rentals booked in the same city there is no minimum length of rental.

Renter Requirement

Must meet the location's minimum age requirements.

Present a valid driver's license from country of origin.

International drivers must provide a valid driver's license from their country of residence. In addition to the drivers license, if the characters are not in English or Latin characters, an international driver's permit is recommended. If the drivers license is in characters other than Latin, and International permit is required or a notarized English Translation is accepted.

This location accepts notarized Chinese Drivers License

Payment Policy

A passport in addition to a credit card, with available credit and in the renter's name, must be presented. The signature on the back must match the name imprinte on the card. In addition, if the renter has an online transaction, the number and name printed on the card presented by renter must match the name printed on the card presented by the renter must match thte name and number stored for the online transaction.

Credit Cards Honored: American Express®, MasterCard®, VISA®

An authorization on the credit card will be taken on all rentals and may range from $1995 - $3420, depending on the car class. This authorization amount may be used toward damages of vehicles, late charges, or citations incurred during rental of vehicle.

Refueling Policy

As a customer, you have a choices as to how to would like to pay for fuel.

Option 1 - We Refill
This option allows the renter to pay Alamo at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. Price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices. A 40% surcharge will apply.
Option 2 - You Refill
This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.
