Children Safety Seats

     
 

State or provincial law may require the use of seatbelts and infant/child seats and this law may vary between states and provinces. An additional fee of up to $6.99 per day with a maximum price of $70.00 per every 30 day rental per infant/child seat will be charged when rented from Provider. Infant/child seats should be requested at time of reservation. In the event the infant/child seat is damaged or not returned at the end of the rental, a fee will be assessed to the Renter. Renters are responsible for installing infant/child seats and may use their own infant/child seats in Providers’ vehiclesOur car rental companies offer child restraint systems that conform to government standards.

Seats with 5-point harness with two-piece harness retainer and front harness lock. Large labeled seatbelt paths with locking clips. Upholstered with either vinyl or cloth, based on availability. 

Seats with the 5-point convertible seat is guaranteed with a reservation. 

Some car rental companies offer three types of child seats:

  • Infant Seat . This is a rearward-facing seat recommended for infants 5-20lbs. 
  • Child Safety Seat - Rear facing or infants up to 30 pounds, forward-facing for toddlers 20 to 40 pounds 
  • Booster Seat - is designed for children that are not large enough for a seat bealt. This seat will raise the child and allow the seat bealt to rest accross the collar bone and chest.

Florida Law states: Children 5 years old or younger must be secured in a federal approved child restraint system. Children 3 years old and younger must use a separate car-seat or the vehicle's built-in child seat.
